Challenges of Designing Incentives that Drive Sustainable Behavior

ZERO2 set out to build a government-endorsed nonprofit app in Hong Kong that motivates businesses and merchants to reduce carbon. They needed a clear touchpoint to engage members, track carbon-saving actions, and connect multi-vendor rewards in one place. The project required strong CRM foundations, an engaging customer interface, and accurate tracking of each member’s reduction efforts.

ZERO2 Engagement and Reward Platform

KlikNGo launched the ZERO2 mobile app as the primary engagement hub. Members register once, and profiles flow into the CRM for personalization, loyalty tracking, and reporting. Users complete missions, earn points, and redeem rewards or discounts directly in the app with smooth, in-app redemption.

Merchant Integration & Management

Over 500 merchants were onboarded into a single ecosystem so members can redeem across many brands. Administrators manage merchant profiles, reward catalogs, and content through a central portal that keeps data consistent across online and offline channels.

Mission-Based Behavioral Rewards

Missions reward everyday green actions such as walking, recycling, uploading utility bills, and choosing no disposable cutlery. The app turns these choices into points that reinforce good habits and keep members engaging.

O2O Reward Redemption

Points convert into Zero Coins, which members can exchange for cash-equivalent value or partner rewards. Online rewards redeem offline with QR or voucher codes, unifying points, vouchers, and on-site validation within the loyalty flow.

Referral Rewards at ZERO2

Members earn extra points or Zero Coins when they refer friends through a static referral code that simplifies tracking. Merchants can also refer other businesses to join ZERO2 and run exclusive referral incentives, for example a free EV charging voucher when a friend signs up.

B2B Team Missions & Leaderboards

Businesses can join as organizations to run collaborative missions that engage teams in sustainable actions. Each member contributes individually while earning and redeeming their own rewards. Leaderboards highlight top contributors and motivate friendly competition, helping companies track collective impact and inspire greater participation in carbon-saving goals.

Unique Touchpoints & Behavioral Analysis

Custom touchpoints capture preferences and behavior while collecting carbon-saving data from merchants for submission to local authorities. Insights loop back into the CRM to optimize journeys, rewards, and partner engagement for a true win-win.
